In this place, there is a non-profit organization called The Helena Mineral Society which focuses on the public awareness of gems, precious rocks and stones. The Society also advocates camaraderie among its members and organizes field trips and hands-on classes for the enthusiasts and those who want to learn more about rocks and precious minerals.

The Helena Mineral Society currently holds an exhibit festival at Helena which also features a mineral trade show and silent auctions for everyone to see. The Festival will feature suppliers, importers and manufacturers of gems and precious stones from other places. Aficionados and sellers are all gathered under one roof in this one of a kind exhibit. The festival is the perfect time to get to know different minerals, their compositions and beauty.

Since it is almost springtime, rock enthusiasts and geologists are all very eager to take out their digging paraphernalia and resume their favorite hobby. It is important to prepare as early as now the digging paraphernalia so one could have successful rock hunting in spring time.
